I spent my childhood in and around San Diego. My dad was in the Navy, so we were lucky enough to live in Japan for 3 years. I completed my undergraduate work on the beautiful campus of Point Loma Nazarene University, then moved to the LA area. For 9 years I taught kindergarten. The next part of my teaching career was at Griffiths Middle School. While there I taught foods & life skills, basic reading, 6th and 7th grade English, and exploratory music. I went back to college at CSULB (Long Beach State), and earned my library credential and Masters Degree in School Librarianship. I moved to Sussman Middle School as the teacher librarian in 2007.
Many of you might find it surprising that in my spare time I love to read! I also enjoy sewing, quilting, traveling, running, cycling, and spending time with my husband and family.
