One of the authors I heard at the Children’s Literature Conference in Bellingham Washington in February was Matt Phelan. He’s a graphic artist and he told about his most recent book, Snow White. The drawings are beautiful. Matt decided to set this book in the 1930s, in New York City, during American’s Great Depression. It’s a very interested perspective and the two copies at the SMS Library have been circulating like crazy. One of the latest readers is Isabel, who enjoyed the book. Stop by the library to check out this book, or if you love Fairy Tales with a twist, ask Ms. Powers for a recommendation.
